Have you ever heard the legend of the white puma who fell in love with the ocean? Students from El Ñuro, a small-scale fishing village in Northern Peru, co-create this song and a stop-motion animation together with talented music artists and animators during the 2023 "We are the Sea Festival" or, in Spanish, Festival Somos Mar.

 

Our nonprofit's participatory audiovisual and creative arts festival tours public schools in artisanal fishing villages along Perú's coastline, engaging young learners and educators in play, storytelling, and exploration of ocean-human health, natural-cultural heritage, social-ecological wellbeing, sustainable fisheries, and epic futures.
