SHORT FILM

LOBITOS, PERU

"... What we need are marine divers... so you see the damage that we have done... and we can make a formal complaint."

Says Don Cosme (73), an artisanal fisherman and former Mayor of the community of Lobitos, with respect to the activities of the extractive industries of oil in their workplace, the sea.

Only 2 briefings are made per year (Enterprise SAP), the channel of communication between the fishermen and the company is non-accessible. There are projects by the fishermen that are not of any interest of the company. There are also claims and complaints about the pollution.

Pollution and lack of awareness to village life continues every day and there is no direct compensation to the Lobitos fishing community.

Still, there remains no concrete response or an agreed upon solution.
