Together with our sisters at a Changing Tides Foundation and our friends at Give and Surf, we facilitated a workshop on gender empowerment. In many societies around the world, girls are rarely encouraged to pursue or even initially discover their dreams. Using photography and standup paddling as tools, we engaged the girls to reflect on what story they want to write as the authors of their own lives. We shared our ideas and expereinces in a reflection circle at the end of our weeklong workshop series.
