Growing up in Buho Buho, an isolated fishing village on Morotai Island in Indonesia, Romi never had the opportunity to use a camera before in his life. Romi jumped at the opportunity to learn photography through observing and documenting his environment - his community along the coastline with the Pacific Ocean. Romi's photo series highlights the market in the capital, the World War Memorial, the construction of a new tuna fishery for export, and daily life around his village.
